Master’s Degree Study Plan
Choosing a study track, curricular and elective course units, additional learning activities, and submitting or changing your study plan.
When to submit it
During the first year
The Master’s degree study plan must be submitted during the first year of the programme.
Standard submission period
1 September – 31 DecemberThe study plan must be submitted by 31 December of the first year.
First submission
Form A
Use Form A when submitting your Master’s degree study plan for the first time.
Curricular choices, student-selected electives and additional type-F learning activities.
Changes
Form B
Use Form B to request changes to a Master’s degree study plan that has already been submitted.
Any changes must comply with the same curricular requirements and the Course Catalogues applicable to the student’s cohort.
Academic year 2026/2027
Relevant Course Catalogues
Under the degree-programme framework governed by Ministerial Decree 270/04, Sections I and II must be completed with reference to the course units actually offered: Year 1 in the 2026/2027 Course Catalogue and Year 2 in the 2025/2026 Course Catalogue.
How to complete it
The three sections of the study plan
Section I
Curricular choices · 42 CFU / ECTS
Select a total of:
- 6 CFU / ECTS by choosing one course unit from Table B;
- 30 CFU / ECTS in compulsory course units for the selected study track, chosen from Table II.1, II.2 or II.3;
- 6 CFU / ECTS in curricular electives chosen from Table A.1, A.2 or A.3.
Section II
Student-selected electives · 9 CFU / ECTS
Select course units independently for a total of 9 CFU / ECTS. Course units from Tables A.1, A.2 and A.3 or from Table C – Recommended electives may also be selected.
If you select a course unit offered by another Degree Programme and do not know its code, indicate the Degree Programme in which it is taught.
Section III
Additional learning activities · 3 CFU / ECTS
Select additional type-F learning activities for a total of 3 CFU / ECTS, choosing one of the following options:
- seminars offered by the Degree Programme as additional knowledge useful for entering the world of work;
- an external training and orientation internship at a company with an agreement with the University of Naples Federico II.
Attendance at seminars is compulsory and must be certified by the lecturer. Credits are recognised by the Chair upon the student’s request through the online forms provided by the Degree Programme.

Academic disciplines
Only one course unit per SSD
Among the curricular electives in Tables A.1, A.2 and A.3 and the student-selected electives, no more than one course unit may belong to the same academic discipline (SSD).
Study-track consistency
Automatic approval or CCD review
The study plan is approved automatically when the compulsory course units and the additional curricular elective are selected within the same study track. In all other cases, specific approval by the Teaching Coordination Committee (CCD) is required.
Compulsory course unit
Metodi matematici per l’Ingegneria (Mathematical Methods for Engineering)
Students who did not pass “Metodi matematici per l’Ingegneria”, or an equivalent course unit, during their previous degree must include it for 6 CFU / ECTS among the related or supplementary activities in Table B, Section I.
