Thesis and graduation
From choosing a supervisor to the graduation session: requirements, templates, deadlines and criteria for determining the final grade.
Stage one
Supervisor assignment
The request must be submitted online, listing three lecturers in order of preference.

The thesis must concern a subject included in the student's study plan. Students must select a lecturer responsible for a subject in their plan and state three mandatory preferences in order of priority.
After consulting the lecturer responsible for the subject, the thesis may be supervised by any lecturer belonging to the same Academic Discipline.
The request is sent to the lecturers in the order indicated. As soon as one of them approves it, the student receives confirmation by email.
Stage two
Writing the thesis
Official templates and practical guidance for preparing the written work correctly.
Preparing the document
- Follow the templates' guidance on structure, formatting and presentation of results.
- Prepare the document for double-sided printing, with different layouts for odd and even pages.
- Begin every chapter on an odd-numbered page, ending the previous chapter with a section break.

Final presentation
The work is presented orally with the support of a PowerPoint presentation, which students may design freely in the style they consider most appropriate.

Stage four
Graduation application
For each graduation session, students must meet both the examination deadlines and the deadline for submitting their application.

Register through Segrepass
Register for the final examination through Segrepass by the deadline indicated for the chosen graduation session.

Submit the documentation
By the same deadline, access the PSB School's online area, open the Regolamenti e Prenotazione folder and follow the instructions in the Word file for the relevant month.

How the final grade is determined
The guidelines assist the Graduation Committee, which retains full authority in determining the final grade.
Final grade
A + B + CThe overall result is rounded to the nearest whole number. Honours require the unanimous approval of the Committee and a rounded final grade of at least 111.

Base score provided by the Student Office.
Final project and presentation
Maximum 3 points.
Student's academic record
Maximum 5 points, calculated as follows:
- 5 points for completion within 3 years, 4 points within 4 years, or 3 points within 5 years;
- 0.1 points for every 3 CFU / ECTS earned with honours;
- 1 point for each grade of 28/30 or higher in compulsory or curriculum-specific third-year examinations classified as core learning activities (type B), up to a maximum of 2 points.

Thesis and presentation
Maximum 4 points: normally 0 to 3 points for thesis quality, presentation skills, commitment and independence; up to 1 additional point, upon the supervisor's recommendation, for a particularly high-quality thesis containing an innovative and original contribution.
Student's academic record
Maximum 4 points, calculated as follows:
- 3 points for completion within 2 years or 2 points within 3 years;
- 0.1 points for every 3 CFU / ECTS earned with honours;
- up to 1 point for at least 10 CFU / ECTS earned abroad.
