Minor Green Technology Developer

Complement your Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with the expertise needed to design and manage the green transition.

The programme

A systemic approach to sustainability

Students enrolled in the Master’s Degree Programme in Electrical Engineering can include the Minor Green Technology Developer in their individual curriculum.

The Minor prepares professionals to design and manage transformations of matter and energy according to sustainability principles. It combines engineering expertise, an interdisciplinary perspective, digital tools and transferable skills to develop solutions based on resource efficiency, the circular economy, biodiversity protection and pollution reduction.

Learning takes place through interdisciplinary modules and project work, including group activities devoted to case studies and practical challenges.

Completion of the Minor is certified by an Open Badge issued by the University of Naples Federico II. When the programme is accompanied by an interdisciplinary Master’s thesis consistent with its profile, a specific mention is also included in the Diploma Supplement.

Distribution of activities

  • Activities A + B: 12 to 21 CFU / ECTS.
  • Activity C: 6 to 12 CFU / ECTS.
  • Activity D: 3 to 9 CFU / ECTS.

Integration into the Master’s degree

Requirements to be met

Up to 20 CFU / ECTS of the Minor may count as curricular credits within the minimum 120 CFU / ECTS required for the Master’s degree. At least 10 CFU / ECTS must instead be extra-curricular and therefore additional to the 120 credits required for the degree.

At least two thirds of the 30 CFU / ECTS must also belong to subject areas outside those characterizing the student’s Master’s degree.

The individual curriculum must be submitted to the relevant Teaching Coordination Committee and comply with both these criteria and the instructions in the Appendix to the guide.

Minor Smart Infrastructure Developer

The programme

A systemic approach to the infrastructure of the future

Students enrolled in the Master’s Degree Programme in Electrical Engineering can include the Minor Smart Infrastructure Developer in their individual curriculum as part of the national inter-university project “Technologies for Transitions”.

The Minor prepares professionals with solid expertise in the design, construction and operation of critical infrastructure—including energy, transport, telecommunications and supply chains—who can develop solutions to improve efficiency, safety, resilience and sustainability.

The programme combines advanced analytical methods, enabling technologies, interdisciplinary modules and project work devoted to case studies and practical challenges.

Completion of the Minor is certified by an Open Badge issued by the University of Naples Federico II. When the programme is accompanied by an interdisciplinary Master’s thesis consistent with its profile, a specific mention is also included in the Diploma Supplement.
