Upper-secondary school teachers

Organize a meeting for your class

If you teach at an upper-secondary school and would like your class to meet faculty members from the Degree Programme, you can request a presentation of the study programme.

The meeting may take place at your school or in our laboratories, giving students an opportunity to learn more about Electrical Engineering and its applications.

To arrange the format and date, contact the Chair of the Degree Programme or the representative of the Orientation and Internationalization Committee.

Erasmus+ abroad

Outgoing mobility: choose the call according to your activity

Erasmus+ distinguishes study mobility from Traineeship mobility. Internships and thesis preparation may be included in the opportunities offered by a call, but the required documents and approval procedures differ.

DIETI Erasmus Regulations

Consult the complete document dated 22 November 2023, which sets out responsibilities, documents and procedures for outgoing and incoming students.

STUDY

Study mobility

Choose a destination available to the Degree Programme where you can take examinations, check the language requirements and compatibility of course units, and prepare the Learning Agreement (LA).

Visit the calls page

TRAINEESHIP

Traineeship mobility

Choose a host institution where you can undertake an internship and/or prepare your thesis, and draw up the Learning Agreement for Traineeships (LAT). The internship must be consistent with your studies and carried out at the same host institution.

Examinations abroad

Study mobility: step-by-step procedure

From choosing a destination to the recognition of examinations taken abroad.

  1. 01

    Read the selection call

The call is generally published during the first months of the year on the University’s Erasmus+ page. Check the requirements, deadlines, application procedure and available destinations.

    Study mobility call ↗
  2. 02

    Choose your destination

Select a destination available to the Degree Programme and compare its course units, examinations, laboratories and language of instruction with your study plan. Consult the partner institution’s website and, if necessary, contact its Erasmus Office or the exchange promoter.

    Partner universities ↗
  3. 03

    Match the course units

Identify examinations whose learning outcomes, disciplinary area and CFU / ECTS are consistent with those at Federico II. Several examinations abroad may correspond to one internal examination, or vice versa, provided that the credits are balanced. The Learning Agreement (LA) must include at least 12 CFU / ECTS. Innovative activities consistent with the programme may also be considered as electives.

  4. 04

    Request a preliminary review

Discuss the suitability of the course syllabuses with the lecturers responsible for the course units to be replaced. For complex plans or equivalences, contact the Degree Programme Erasmus Coordinator, Prof. Carlo Forestiere, or the Degree Programme Chair.

    Degree Programme contacts ↗

  5. 05

    Submit your application

Complete the application and take part in the selection procedure according to the University’s instructions and deadlines.

    Application instructions ↗
  6. 06

Accept the grant and complete admission

If selected, submit the written Acceptance/Assignment Form to the administrative contact, Dr Marino Mirabile, by the deadline in the notice. The administrative contact forwards it to the International Relations Office (URI), the exchange promoter and the Degree Programme Erasmus Coordinator. You must also complete any application required by the host institution.

    Rankings, acceptance and forms ↗
  7. 07

Prepare and obtain approval for the Learning Agreement

Complete the LA online, listing the activities abroad and the corresponding Federico II activities. The Degree Programme Erasmus Coordinator approves it; submit it to the administrative contact, who will forward it to the host institution for signature.

Complete the Online Learning Agreement ↗
  8. 08

    Request recognition after your return

Record any changes in the Changes to LA. At the end of the mobility period, the host institution sends the Transcript of Records to the URI, which forwards it to the administrative contact. The Degree Programme Erasmus Coordinator verifies the examinations and converts the grades according to the Department’s conversion tables.

Internship and thesis preparation

Traineeship mobility: what changes

The procedure follows the same general stages as study mobility, with the following differences.

  1. 01

    Read the Traineeship call

Check the requirements, deadlines, duration, documents and selection procedure on the University’s dedicated page. Traineeship mobility call ↗

  2. 02

Identify a host institution and contact the promoter

You do not need to establish equivalences between examinations. Instead, define an internship and/or thesis-preparation activity consistent with your studies. Contact the exchange promoter well in advance to confirm feasibility and obtain their endorsement of your application. DIETI agreements and promoters ↗

  3. 03

    Apply and accept the grant

Take part in the selection according to the call. If selected, submit your acceptance to the administrative contact by the stated deadline and complete any procedure required by the host institution. Applications and forms ↗

  4. 04

    Prepare the LAT

Complete the Learning Agreement for Traineeships (LAT) with the promoter’s support. The Degree Programme Erasmus Coordinator must approve the document, which must then be submitted to the administrative contact for forwarding to Federico II and the host institution. Traineeship documents ↗

  5. 05

Complete the activity and request recognition

Record every change in the Changes to LAT. At the end, obtain the Traineeship Certificate and the other documents required to recognise the activity and its CFU / ECTS. View the complete document procedure ↓

Important

Do not begin activities that are not included in the LAT

The approved LAT defines the activities, tutors and recognition. Thesis preparation requires prior agreement on the topic and supervision; the final examination is held at Federico II.

Students from partner universities

Incoming mobility: examinations, internships or thesis work at DIETI

The procedure follows the incoming-student process described in the DIETI regulations.

  1. 01

    Apply through your home university

Apply and accept your place according to your partner university’s rules. Your home university will submit the nomination. Erasmus incoming at Federico II ↗

  2. 02

Choose activities that are actually available

Check DIETI course units, semesters, language of instruction and timetables. For an internship or thesis, first identify an available tutor. DIETI degree programmes ↗

  3. 03

    Prepare the Learning Agreement

Send the LA/LAT to the agreement promoter or Degree Programme Erasmus Coordinator for review and signature. Online Learning Agreement ↗

  4. 04

    Complete admission to Federico II

Follow the instructions from the URI and the administrative contact, Dr Marino Mirabile of the DIETI Teaching Office. DIETI Erasmus contacts ↗

  5. 05

    Carry out the activities

Lecturers record examinations; internships and thesis preparation are supervised and certified by a tutor. Class timetables ↗

  6. 06

    Change the plan if necessary

Record every change in the Changes to LA/LAT and obtain the required approvals. LA and Changes instructions ↗
